Dundee United V Hamilton

Dundee United’s good form came to a halt last Saturday when we were on the end of a deserved defeat. United never really got going last week but with most of the players having seven days to prepare for tomorrow’s match against Hamilton you’d certainly wouldn’t back against the team to get back on winning ways particularly with the way we’ve been getting results at Tannadice recently. Hamilton meanwhile are in relegation form and will have to get back to winning ways pretty quickly or it certainly will be a long six months. One thing they must do is keep in touch with the Inverness’s and the St Mirren’s.

Probable Team:

Zaluska

Dillon Wilkie Dods Dixon

Flood S.Robertson Gomis Conway

Sandaza Daly

Kick off: 3PM

Referee : Crawford Allan

Venue    : Tannadice

Both sides have remained pretty healthy throughout this season with injuries with no more than two to three players being injured at the same time. Keith Watson played another reserve game during the week but it’ll probably be next season before we see him in the first team again with Keith probably being loaned out in January until the end of the season.

Jon Daly could make a return to the starting eleven after Roy O’Donovon again failed to impress during last week’s game.

Hamilton will be without Mark Corcoran and Martin Canning for tomorrow’s game.

Admission Prices

Admission prices are £19/£21 for adults and £10/£12 for concessions in lower and upper tiers respectively.

Previous Meeting

Monday 11th August 2008, 7:45 PM kick-off, New Douglas Park, Hamilton 3-1 Dundee United

In the opening game of the season United put in an utterly abysmal performance and got what they deserved. Despite a poor opening to the game United took an undeserved lead after Mark McLaughlin headed into his own net. That was the best it would get though as a Tony Stevenson equalised through a deflected free-kick and James McAarthur nodded the second goal in minutes before half-time. David Graham got the third midway through the second half.

Dangermen

Hamilton have got some good talented players particularly in James McArthur and James McCarthy but they have struggled to adapt to the SPL so far. There’s not really been a standout so far but when Richard Offiong decides to look interested he can be a handful but with Lee Wilkie and Darren Dods been playing well recently he could struggle to make an impact. Tomorrow’s really about getting the first goal, if we were to do that I’m not sure that would suit Hamilton who then would have to come out more.

Weather Forecast

The coldest day of the year looks to be upon us tomorrow with two degrees looking like the highest we will get! Oh well needs must.

Prediction: Dundee United 2-0 Hamilton
