Elgin were never going to beat them two weeks in a row. 1-0 Dundee.

East Fife 2 - 0 Raith
And
Stirling Albion 1 - 0 Ayr

Are also looking like potential "shocks" (Both 2nd div teams beating 1st div)

Though Albion beating Livvy!

Stirling beat Raith last week in the challenge cup and have played well in pre-season so for me that was one of the likely upsets. Raith got beat from Stirling last week in the challenge cup so their preparation for the new season have hit a skid recently despite doing well in friendlies against teams from the SPL.

3 for Albion now.

Sportsound reporter saying that Livvy will probably be in the 2nd division from next weekend unless McDougall and Rankine put up a bond equivalent to the crowd from 2 home games for the other 9 teams (in otherwords the amount of money not generated if Livvy were to still go TU)

3 - 1 Swansea Vs Killie.
Hibs now 3 - 1 due to an OG

The problem with that is determining what the crowds will be.

The likes of Dundee and Dunfermline could start the season with 4,000+ crowds, but if either or both fail to meet expectations, they could drop to 2,000 or less. And using last season as an indicator is flawed.

And then, of course, there's the issue of clubs having to refund season ticket holders, do without hospitality for two games...

Aye it's a bit speculative. Dundee could end the season in last place in the league and crowds of 500, or top of the league and attracting 10,000.
And that would affect the yearly average over the whole league.

Bernie and Max boiled up a bond system in F1 after Forti failed mid-season, that worked for a few years until Super Aguri came along and failed mid-season, it only worked that long by stopping small teams trying to enter and even causing wholesale trading of teams by manufacturers becasue they didn't want to pay it to create a new team.

So when is the draw for the next round and is it seeded? I am guessing it will be everyone that didn't qualify for Europe that will be in this round?

Tuesday, yes and yes.

The current seeds are (in order of league finish last season):

Dundee Utd, Hibs, Kilmarnock, Hamilton, Inverness CT, St Johnstone, Partick Thistle, Dunfermline, Dundee.

If St Mirren win today, they'll be the final seed; if they lose, Queen of the South get it.

I'm puzzled as to how St Johnstone and St Mirren played in this round yet other SPL teams are coming in on the next, also why are Dundee Utd, Hibs, Killie and Hamilton in the next round, then Motherwell and Falkirk not coming in till Rangers, Celtic, Aberdeen and Hearts come in in the next again round.

Sorry the last part of my question is obv because they were all playing in Europe. :)

St Johnstone and St Mirren were the lowest ranked teams left so that's why they're in and ourselves and the rest have to wait till the second round.

St Mirren and St Johnstone were in at this round because of Motherwell being in Europe.

Normally, it would go:

R1: 30 SFL clubs
R2: 15 winners from R1 + 7 SPL sides (those not in Europe)
R3: 11 winners from R2 + 5 SPL sides (those who are/were in Europe)
R4: 8 winners from R3
R5: 4 winners from R4
Final: 2 winners from R5

But this time, it needed to be:

R1: 30 SFL clubs + 2 SPL clubs
R2: 16 winners from R1 + 4 SPL clubs
R3: 10 winners from R1 + 6 SPL sides from Europe
And so on.
