I'd argued with someone in work that I didn't feel he would take it. If he's as ambitious as some say, then the uncertainty surrounding The Rangers' future would have been a big issue. The media roundly assumed he'd get a bigger transfer and wage budget, but ignored what might happen if they were to fall into administration in his time (which I think is a real possibility).
Get the double meanings.

Rangers are a total shambles but it's still a much higher profile job than Aberdeen with a much larger salary I imagine. He'll no get a better job offer, he should have taken it.
